What is scoliosis???

When I found out I had scoliosis, I didn't even know what is was.  According to the dictionary, scoliosis means "the abnormal lateral curvature of the spine."  If you have scoliosis it is usually a "C" shape or an "S" shape.   It is different for everyone.  Mine is an "S" shape.  Curves of 45 degrees and over need surgery and curves from 25 - 45 degrees means that you get a brace from keeping from getting worse.  I hope that the people who get surgery recover quickly.  Scoliosis happens to many girls from the age of 10 - 14.  I am 13 and I found out this year and I got a brace.  Good luck to the people who have braces and need surgery.
