Brace shopping

When you don't have your brace on you're a couple sizes smaller.   Half of my shirts from before don't even fit over my brace. :(  So... I had to go brace shopping.  I personally think it's easy to wear big t-shirts and I wear sport shorts, sweats, and any big comfy pants/shirts.  

What is scoliosis???

When I found out I had scoliosis, I didn't even know what is was.  According to the dictionary, scoliosis means "the abnormal lateral curvature of the spine."  If you have scoliosis it is usually a "C" shape or an "S" shape.   It is different for everyone.  Mine is an "S" shape.  Curves of 45 degrees and over need surgery and curves from 25 - 45 degrees means that you get a brace from keeping from getting worse.  I hope that the people who get surgery recover quickly.  Scoliosis happens to many girls from the age of 10 - 14.  I am 13 and I found out this year and I got a brace.  Good luck to the people who have braces and need surgery.

ROCK HARD ABS!!!

I always tell people that I have rock hard abs.  It's kind of funny how some people believe me.  I ask people  to hit my stomach all the time and they really question me or they think I'm crazy.  There are some pro's to having a back brace.   You could make fun of your brace or draw on it...sometimes and do more with it.  My sister is so crazy...she wants to draw ab lines on my brace.  Sometimes I tap on my brace and say I could be in a band.
